Is the location of your logo designer really important
I have looked into searches statistics published by one major search engine. To my surprise, many people are looking for a logo design services by the location of the designer. They look for logo design in Florida, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Houston, Seattle, San Diego, Victoria, Vancouver, in the UK in Midlands or Leicester, and even in some strange places you have probably never heard about.
There are some logo design projects where the location is important, but they are in a negligible minority. All the instructions and ideas from the client's side can be communicated easily by email or phone. There is no need for long meetings and wasting of your time, unless we are speaking about a complete identity-rehearsal project budgeted in a tens of thousands dollars range.
You do not necessarily want to have your logo designed in the same company as your biggest local competitor had. Some less creative designers often user repeating motives and ideas for their logo designs, which becomes a problem once all of their customers recruit from the local community. The last thing you want is to have your law office logo looking similarly to that of the real estate company over the street, or, in the worst case, to that of the Thai fast food restaurant in the same building.
Maybe you are just starting to accuse us of a bit of exaggeration, and yes, maybe it is a little bit exaggerated, but whole point is this: do not let irrelevant details interfere with your logo designer choice. The only important thing is whether they can create a great logo for you. It has nothing to do with where they are located.
Other common mistakes are to choose the creator of your custom logo by the lowest price, or by the age of the designer. Great logo designer is not necessarily an expert in search engine placement or web design and web coding, so even if his website is buried at the 93rd place in search engine results, and maybe even if her web site is not all that fantastic, still navigate to their reference galleries, and look for the great logos they designed in the past. You might be pleasantly surprised.
You cannot find great logo design by looking for a designer location, lowest price, age, or experience, diploma from the logo design course, not even by how their website appeals to you. It is only their past and future work, samples and testimonials, what shall matters in your decision-making.
Good luck in making the right decision!
